Throwback Thursday: Big thank you to Ingénu/e Magazine for this feature on ORFILA when we played at the Two Counties Music Festival in August 2014!
Please check out their independent arts magazine, it’s fantastic!
Last weekend ORFILA were asked to play at a Christmas Concert in Folkestone for mine and Abi’s ex piano and music teacher, Mrs Thorogood. She has recently been awarded an MBE for her work in music and teaching. She has inspired us all for so many years, worked us hard and always encouraged us to pursue music as a career.
In our music lessons, I remember she would always say: “If you want something, you work hard for it… and I know you girls will…”. Sometimes you meet someone who will stay with you your whole life no matter where you go. Mrs Thorogood is definitely one of those people in my life. She is one of the most professional, kind-hearted people I have ever met. I’m sure a lot of her students, old and new, would agree that she is a fantastic teacher and we are all extremely lucky and fortunate to have been taught by such a fantastic musician and incredible teacher.
A huge thank you for everything you’ve done for us over the years and many congratulations go out to you for such an amazing achievement!
Last month our debut album got reviewed in one of the biggest country music magazines in the UK; Maverick. This month they are promoting our album on a full page advert!
